ABOUT US
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to educate the workforce on their rights and responsibilities within the workers' compensation system, ensuring they are informed and empowered.

Meet the Team
The Work Comp Chaos Team is made up of Lauren Cain and Chris Cain
Our Story
Work Comp Chaos began in 2022 as a humble university portfolio project, sparked by Lauren’s curiosity and drive to demystify the workers’ compensation system. What started as a podcast and website for a class assignment quickly turned into something bigger—a voice cutting through the jargon, making complex topics more accessible to everyone.

Today, Work Comp Chaos is reimagined as a dynamic learning hub, offering insights through blogs, videos, podcasts, and even fictional case studies featuring pop culture characters in relatable scenarios. It’s all about learning—without the dry lectures.

At the heart of it all is Lauren, the creator and creative engine behind the project. She’s joined by Chris, her father and a Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional (CWCP), who brings decades of industry experience to the table. Chris helps break down tough topics and adds a layer of credibility and depth to every discussion.

Together, they’re turning confusion into clarity—one episode, article, and storyline at a time.
Our Logo
The Leafy Sea Dragon

At the center of our logo is the leafy sea dragon—an unusual, often overlooked creature that blends into its surroundings while navigating wild waters. Much like workers’ comp, it’s complex, misunderstood, and full of surprises. We chose it as our mascot to represent resilience, adaptability, and hidden strength.

The Chaos Symbol & Spears

Surrounding the sea dragon is a chaos symbol, with spears jutting in every direction. It’s a nod to how overwhelming and scattered the workers’ comp world can feel—confusing laws, competing interests, and so many moving parts. The symbol reminds us why we’re here: to bring a little order to the chaos.

The Blue Watercolor Swirl

The swirling blue watercolor adds movement and fluidity, showing that learning is never static. It also reflects the idea of calm within the storm—something we hope to offer with every blog, episode, and explainer. Plus, it's a subtle nod to the sea dragon’s underwater home.
